Normal skin is not too oily or too dry, it is perfectly balanced like the skin of a baby. Dry skin is usually tight and the facial pores are very small. The skin usually has fine wrinkles, flaking, red patches, or in the case of coloured skin, the skin may appear ashy or dull.

1Do not use soap to clean the face as it contains alkaline which can be very drying and avoid alcohol-based toners. These two ingredients can aggravate dry skin. One of the best things you can do for your dry skin is to use a rich cream (but not too heavy), together with cleansing milk or a natural facial mist derived from plants.
2Eat healthy food and take health supplements to maintain skin suppleness and elasticity. Some excellent supplements are Omega 3, Omega 6, Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil, Flaxseed Oil or Natural Vitamin E.
3Keep out of the sun. If you are exposed to the sun, make sure you cover up with a hat and sunscreen.
4Do not take extremely long, hot showers as this may irritate dry skin and cause it to become flaky.
